Numbering of SABS Specifications
In designing and producing cables, CBI-electric: african cables always subscribes to the latest version of the applicable specifications. The new numbering approach adopted by the SABS in 2000 is potentially confusing and this bulletin serves to clarify the matter.
Minutes or the TENTH meeting of SABS Technical Committee 66, held at 9:30 on 20 July 2001 in Committee Room M140, SABS, Groenkloof, Pretoria:
Minute 43.5.1
The Chairman informed members that the SABS now had a print–on-demand facility. One of the benefits of this system was that amendments to local standards no longer needed to be produced separately, but could be incorporated directly into the standard. These so-called consolidated documents could be identified by the edition number on the list of published standards, i.e. edition 2.01 referred to edition 2, into which amendment 1 had been incorporated.
